RME / ADI-2 Pro EX AD/DA Converter

The ADI-2 Pro EX is an AD/DA converter from RME. Developed based on the design of the DI-2 Pro FS R Black Edition, the ADI-2 Pro EX retains the rich features of its predecessor while featuring a redesigned chassis. Furthermore, it achieves improved output performance and enhanced hardware protection.

■AD/DA Converter

Inheriting the high-precision clock technology, high-quality analog circuit design, and RME's design philosophy of pursuing sound faithful to the original source from the ADI-2 Pro, the ADI-2 Pro EX can be used not only as a studio-quality high-end AD/DA converter, but also as a multi-format converter (AES, SPDIF, ADAT) with dual headphone amplifiers and monitoring functions, DSD recording and playback capabilities, and even as an AD/DA front-end for audio measurement supporting sample rates up to 768 kHz. The internal converter chips are the ""AK5574"" for the AD converter and the ""AK4493"" for the DA converter.

■ Ultra-High Precision PCM/DSD 768 kHz AD/DA Converter
The ADI-2 Pro EX is a PCM/DSD 768 kHz compatible AD/DA converter with exceptional flexibility. This flexibly designed device features balanced/unbalanced analog inputs and outputs, two Extreme Power headphone outputs, SteadyClock FS, four-step hardware input/output reference level switching (+24 dBu, +19 dBu, +13 dBu, +4 dBu), DSP-based signal processing, external power supply operation, class-compliant USB connectivity, and support for sampling rates up to 768 kHz, as well as DSD recording and direct DSD playback (256/11.2 MHz).

It is suitable for a wide range of applications, from studio reference playback to professional mastering and pure audio listening environments.
