■What is Real-Time FX?
■What is Synergy Core Native?
Late 1970s guitar music was greatly influenced by the now-famous organic, warm sound of Boss's legendary CE-1 chorus/vibrato pedal. Released in 1976, the CE-1 introduced an innovative design and was favored by musicians such as Andy Summers (The Police), Jeff ""Skunk"" Baxter (The Doobie Brothers), and John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers), propelling Boss to the pinnacle of the guitar world.
The CE-1 Chorus Ensemble employed the then-popular Roland JC-120 chorus amp circuit, captivating listeners with its rich, organic modulation and distinctive pitch-shift vibrato. Now, these functions are accessible at your fingertips using the Synergy Core platform.
The unique non-linear characteristics of all components that make up the pedal have been meticulously measured and emulated, and reproduced digitally using the original circuit diagrams. The BBD chorus effect features the same stereo modes as the hardware unit (Split (Dual) and Basic (Classic)), but also includes two unique modes (Wide and Cross).
By combining the enhanced features of our CE-1 emulation with the power of the most powerful onboard processing system (Synergy Core) currently on the market, the functionality and uses of this pedal are greatly expanded, extending beyond just guitar processing to the realms of sound design and music production.
Tip: Connect the plugin in a parallel chain and subtly input either the entire mix or only selected instruments. Set the stereo mode to cross (a subtle blend of basic and split), keep the level control in the middle position, and turn all other knobs to maximum. Switching between chorus and vibrato gives you two unique and distinctive mix bus effects that smooth and tie together tracks in a way no other processor can. In this setting, chorus provides a mellow, rich, and warm groove, while vibrato adds depth and vibrant color to the track.
