Odessa is an additive synthesis oscillator that generates sound by adding up to 2560 sine wave harmonic components. By manipulating the parameters of each component, it can produce an extremely wide range of sounds, from otherworldly and complex textures to classic sawtooth waves, square waves, and pure sine waves.

Odessa provides a set of controls for shaping the harmonic spectrum based on the number of harmonics and their frequency and amplitude distribution. The state of these controls can be visually monitored via a spectrum analyzer consisting of 12 multicolor LEDs. The harmonic series can be compressed or expanded, tilted, or thinned out with a comb-like frequency response, allowing for the generation of a vast array of spectra. Animating the comb response can produce radical effects similar to flangers and Faesers.

All harmonic components are frequency-related to a common fundamental and controlled by a single V/oct input. Frequency modulation is also possible via exponential FM and linear FM with zero-crossing. By spreading up to five detunable unison voices, you can generate thick, dense clusters and powerful chord sounds.

Expandability
Hel: Universal expander dedicated to Odessa. Enables 3-voice and 5-voice paraphonic chord generation.
Also compatible with Leibniz Binary Subsystem. Connecting expanders like Lipsk allows individual activation/deactivation of harmonic groups defined by bank length parameters, enabling further experimental spectral manipulation.
