A 1995 Moes & Moes cello owned by Yo-Yo Ma, sampled and performed by Alan Black, principal cellist of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.

Included Instruments
1. Poiesis Cello.nki
This instrument is powered by the Aria engine, also known from Panorama Guitars and Aria Vocalscapes. Load articulations into each of the two slots and use the intuitive XY pad to create textures by layering articulations. The XY pad allows you to crossfade layers, and you can further evolve your sound by assigning various effects and layer-specific filters to the X and Y axes. XY pad operations can be recorded and automated, making it easy to create ever-changing sounds.

2. Poiesis Cello Articulation Keyswitch.nki
Perform single-note articulations by assigning them to be triggered by a customizable traditional keyswitch or velocity. Minor tuning adjustments have been made, carefully balancing some articulations to improve their tuning while maintaining their natural sound quality.

3. Legacy Instruments
Two instruments from POIESIS CELLO version 1 have been included as Legacy Instruments.
・Textures.nki
Layer any two of 43 long-sustain articulations and freely crossfade between layers using the mod-wheel (MIDI CC#1).
- Shorts.nki
Includes three keyswitchable short articulations (Spiccato, Staccato, and Pizzicato). Each articulation features five round robins and three dynamic layers. Pizzicato features three dynamic layers and a snap pizz (Bartok pizz) triggered at MIDI velocity 127.

Key Instrument Features
・Microphone Channels
You can mix the following four microphone channels:
- LDC: large diaphragm condenser (Neumann U87)
- RBN: ribbon (AEA R84A)
- SDC: small diaphragm condenser (Schoeps CMC/mk4)
- MIX: Pre-rendered stereo mix of three microphones in LCR (left-center-right) positions

・ADVANCED Menu (Includes parameters exclusive to the Textures instrument)
- REVERB: Includes two algorithms: HALL and ROOM.
- RELEASE: Adjusts the release time (the time it takes for the sample volume to return from maximum to silence after the key is released).
- PLAYER NOISE: Randomly triggers two sample sets (attack/release) featuring player noises, such as breathing, fingers touching strings, and the rubbing of an arm against the instrument body, while playing. This adds realism and a sense of presence to your performance.
- X-FADE CURVE: Sets the crossfade curve when crossfading between two layers in the Textures instrument. Different crossfade curves are effective depending on the articulation combination.
- EXPRESSION dal niente: Specifies whether CC#11 is fully muted at 0 or fully active.
- Pitch bend on layer B: Enables pitch bend modulation on layer B of the Textures instrument. This allows you to vary the normal crossfade by creating subtle pitch changes when crossfading layers. When the same articulation is selected for both layers, you can crossfade with a detuned version of the same sample, creating an interesting sound.
