What is VOCALOID?
VOCALOID is a technology developed by Yamaha that synthesizes singing voices simply by entering lyrics and melody, and the application software that utilizes this technology. The music score information, such as notes and lyrics, is synthesized in the ""singer library,"" created from data recorded from actual singing voices, using a ""synthesis engine."" Furthermore, by incorporating facial expression information (such as vibrato) necessary for the singing voice into the music score information, a more realistic singing voice can be created. In particular, the breath components contained in the singing voice sound more natural.
