TAPE S is a tape emulator plug-in inspired by the 1/4-inch tape machines of the late '80s and early '90s, beloved by many professionals for their unique sound characteristics.

It has been meticulously designed to capture the nostalgic warmth and analog character that defined an era of recording. Featuring a warm midrange, smooth high end, and rich harmonics, it adds depth and richness to any bus or master mix, delivering exceptional sound quality in your mixing.

Deep Vintage AI Hardware Simulation Plug-in Series
The Deep Vintage series is a collection of plug-ins that harness the power of AI to simulate authentic hardware. These machines stand the Turing test of the human ear, faithfully capturing the true soul of vintage gear.

Three-Body Tech's proprietary machine learning technology, APNN 2.0 (Audio Processing Neural Network), specialized for simulating analog effect processors, ensures a listening experience that's closest to legendary hardware models while maintaining full real-time processing.

APNN (Audio Processing Neural Network) 2.0
Three-Body Tech has dabbled in numerous emulation technologies, including physical modeling and convolution. Regardless of the technology used, THREE-BODY TECH's ultimate goal remains consistent: to reproduce the sound of real-world devices as faithfully as possible.

Trained by THREE-BODY TECH's proprietary APNN (Audio Processing Neural Network) 2.0, Deep Vintage delivers a listening experience indistinguishable from the original hardware.

APNN is a neural network optimized for audio processing, consisting of a large number of audio processing modules (EQ, compressor, overdrive, etc.). During the training process, the same audio is input to APNN 2.0 and the hardware, and APNN 2.0 learns how the hardware alters the input signal in both waveform and spectral dimensions. To capture the essence of the modeled hardware, it automatically adjusts its structure and parameters until the difference between the hardware and APNN 2.0 outputs is small. In other words, a well-trained APNN 2.0 instance is able to capture both the dynamic and tonal characteristics of the source hardware.

Ultimately, the APNN achieves phase cancellation with an error of approximately -40dB to -75dB (depending on the hardware model). This exceptional level of error control, even surpassing variations between different production lots of the same hardware model, allows us to confidently say that the APNN can ""fool"" the human ear.

After an instance of APNN 2.0 completed training, THREE-BODY TECH conducted rigorous human testing and continued tweaking until all members of the team passed the ABX test. Nothing in your DAW comes closer to the real hardware than a plug-in with APNN 2.0.

Multiplex Saturation, Multistage Coloration
With the power of APNN 2.0, Deep Vintage simulates not only specific frequency responses and coloration, but also all the subtle ""hardware tricks""—dynamics, airiness, phase shift, tube voltage drop, and more—making you forget you're listening to digital.

Independent Harmonics Control
In actual hardware, the amount of harmonics is fixed by the knob setting. However, Deep Vintage offers the surreal flexibility of independently controlling harmonics, separate from other tonal characteristics. This allows you to adjust the sonic power of high drive settings while maintaining the purity of a clean tone.

Tape Wow/Flutter Co-training
Real wow/flutter is the pitch fluctuation caused by mechanical inconsistencies in the tape transport system of a tape machine. Wow is a slow, noticeable pitch fluctuation, while flutter is a faster-paced fluctuation. APNN 2.0 uses a physically modeled wow/flutter simulation, which not only produces more authentic results, but also makes the modeled wow/flutter effect more closely resemble the original hardware.

Re-sampling/Up-sampling
Deep Vintage's completely redesigned resampling algorithm ensures consistent accuracy and fidelity at all sample rates, enabling completely sample-rate-independent simulation. It also supports up to 8x oversampling, effectively eliminating aliasing issues.

Adjustable Noise Floor
The Deep Vintage series simulates the hardware's inherent noise floor, allowing you to adjust its amount as needed.

""Retro DAW"" Simulation
Inspired by the very subtle changes (below -140 dB) introduced by classic DAWs around the turn of the millennium. While the changes are extremely subtle, THREE-BODY TECH did not miss them. This feature can be enabled or disabled as needed.

Low CPU usage
No need for expensive cloud-based GPU clusters. Deep Vintage runs locally, just like other plugins, and uses extremely low CPU usage.
