Back in the early '70s, Kepex units quietly sat in every studio where gold records were produced. This trusted envelope shaper shaped the drum sound of rock and pop music in many ways in the '70s and '80s, making it an essential tool for major studios of the time.

Kepex II utilized the innovative Valley TA-101 VCA for gain reduction. Like other Valley People chips, the TA-101 gave Kepex II unparalleled musicality, even at extreme settings. Applying enormous gain reduction while protecting the signal was previously limited to Vari-Mu Tube designs until the arrival of the TA-101, which made it possible for Valley People's tubeless devices.


How it Works in a Plug-in

We sought out some of the best-preserved analog parts and painstakingly emulated every component, creating a synergy of flawless analog sound and digital functionality. By painstakingly emulating every aspect of the circuitry, we achieved a uniquely accurate digital reproduction of Kepex II.
