Dialogue is one of the most important elements of any spoken-word media production, from movies to TV shows and documentaries. Considering the need to add the soundtrack, music score, sound effects, and countless other audio sources, it's clear that dialogue mixing is a difficult task. It's unthinkable to watch a film where the actors' lines are inaudible. The SA-2 Dialogue Processor is based on a rare hardware unit invented by Academy Award-winning recording mixer Mike Minkler and used in over 100 major motion picture productions. Designed to improve the sound of recorded dialogue, the SA-2 also excels at adjusting the texture of musical vocals and any track. It can also be used as a de-esser and multiband compressor. The SA-2 Dialogue Processor is an active EQ consisting of five strategically selected bands, with multiple modes to precisely address a variety of dialogue issues. Each band of the active EQ has a threshold that determines the amount of EQ applied to the signal. Individual bands can also be turned on or off individually, allowing you to quickly see the effect of each band. Two modes are available: one determines the active EQ curve, and the other determines the position of the five bands on the frequency spectrum.
