Echo effects, both hardware and plug-ins, are among the most diverse and numerous. The EC-300 utilizes McDSP's proprietary modeling expertise, spanning more than 20 years, to analyze and recreate iconic hardware, magnetic, analog, and digital echo effects. Each model consists of two delay units. In addition to basic controls for ease of use, it also features feedback balance between the two delays, crossfeed adjustment, modulation, and input-level-dependent ducking and compression controls, essential for modern music production. Additionally, each model is equipped with features for creating fresh and unique sounds. The magnetic model features parameters for recreating tape saturation, wow, and flutter, while the digital model features SIM (Simulrated Impulse Models), a feature also used in FutzBox, that recreates the audio output of a variety of audio equipment, toys, appliances, and gadgets.
