McDSP DE 555 is a de-esser plug-in that removes harsh sibilant ""sa"" consonants from vocal tracks. Intelligent signal analysis optimizes processing regardless of the input signal level, eliminating the need for a threshold setting. As expected from McDSP, known for its renowned compressors, the ratio and release can be adjusted to tailor the de-esser's effect. Using HF Only mode, you can suppress harsh consonants without lowering the dialogue level. The EQ/filter section is also a hallmark of McDSP's renowned sound design, featuring a selectable high-pass or band-pass KEY filter. The KEY filter features not only frequency but also a focus function, allowing you to target sibilants without sacrificing the dialogue. Highly visible meters and graphs, such as a real-time display of the de-esser reduction amount and a KEY filter frequency plot, are also typical McDSP features.
