Christopher Olka, Tuba
has been Principal Tuba with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra since 2016; from 1999 to 2016 he was Principal Tuba with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra and Seattle Opera. He has been principal with the All-Star Orchestra under Gerard Schwartz and the Saito Kinen Orchestra under Seiji Ozawa, as well as guest principal with the Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony, New York Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, and many other orchestras. From 1989 to 1996, he was Principal of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra.
From 1989 to 1996, he was a member of the performing staff at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, where he was a member of numerous orchestras, including the TUBAFOURS, the only full-time professional tuba quartet in the world.
As a soloist, he has performed energetically throughout the world with orchestras and brass bands, as well as through master classes and solo recitals.
