AJH Synth / Sonic XV black

The Sonic XV Eurorack module is a quad-pole diode ladder filter that incorporates the circuitry and sound of the Musonics Sonic V synthesizer, which possesses characteristics entirely distinct from those of a transistor ladder filter. In addition to the standard 24dB low-pass output, it adds a 6dB low-pass output and a band-pass output, enabling full-voltage control of resonance.

To significantly enhance this module's sonic versatility, two wave shapers have been added. The input features a breakpoint-based wave folder with manually adjustable or voltage-controlled drive levels. A bias control switch enables further waveform modification.

The second wave shaper connects to the resonance circuit, adding distortion and waveform shaping to the resonance loop signal. Its drive is also manually adjustable or voltage controllable. A wet/dry mix control allows adding resonance wave shaping from 0 to 100%.

These additional features transform the diode ladder filter core far beyond its original function, evolving it into a harmonic filter module capable of adding harmonics and shaping waveforms, not just filtering. Four independent CV inputs enable the generation of highly complex filtering and wave-shaping sounds.
