T-RackS FAME Studio Reverb is a reverb collection created in collaboration with Fame Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, USA, known as the ""hit recording capital of the world."" It captures the unique sound and vibe of Muscle Shoals.
Fame Studios is a studio that has produced countless hits for over 60 years, from Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Etta James, and Otis Redding to Alicia Keys and Alison Krauss, armed with a sound unlike any other in the world.
Providing the reverberation of nine spaces from across the studio
T-RackS FAME Studio Reverb offers a total of nine spaces, including two live rooms, five isolation booths, an EMT plate reverb, and an echo chamber at Fame Studios. Each features a Modern and Vintage mode, providing a reverb collection with a wide range of sonic possibilities in a single plug-in.
## Helping to Restore the Echo Chamber
In developing T-RackS FAME Studio Reverb, IK Multimedia collaborated with Rodney Hall of Fame Studios to restore Fame's original echo chamber. After years of disuse, this echo chamber was restored with the same equipment as it was in the 1960s, successfully capturing the same stunning sound as it had back then.
## Accurately Recreates Instrument and Microphone Positions
With the cooperation of Fame Studio engineers, T-RackS FAME Studio Reverb accurately captures not only the microphone placements used on Fame's most iconic albums, but also the exact positions of the performers. By selecting source names such as bass, drums, organ/electric keyboards, vocals/guitar, and piano using the ""SOURCE POSITION"" knob on the T-RackS FAME Studio Reverb screen, the microphones and sources will be placed exactly where the magic happened in each room.
## Recreates Not Just the Space, But the Microphones and Consoles
T-RackS FAME Studio Reverb not only recreates the impulse responses of the spaces, but also the sounds of Fame Studio's vintage microphones and the consoles that are key to each studio's unique sound.
Studio A features a Neve 8232. Studio B, renovated by Fame's Rodney Hall and Grammy Award-winning producer Glenn Rosenstein, features the SSL 6056 E, beloved by Stevie Ray Vaughan and used on many classic albums.
For an even more vintage sound, choose the original Universal Audio 610 console, handcrafted for Fame, to accurately capture the vibe of the 1960s and '70s.
## Incorporating Proprietary Modeling and Convolution Technology
To capture the unique acoustic characteristics of each studio, T-RackS FAME Studio Reverb incorporates IK Multimedia's proprietary VRM™ (Volumetric Response Modeling) and advanced hybrid convolution technology to develop the highest quality reverb.
Proprietary new technology has improved the measurement process, resulting in a truly immersive sound. The new SPREAD (Broad/Focused) control allows you to adjust the response width of each room to suit the sound source.
Easy-to-use tone shaping features
T-RackS FAME Studio Reverb offers a wide range of controls, including pre-delay, decay, EQ, individual microphone levels, panning, and solo monitoring.
Each studio's live room features wet L/R and dry faders, as well as two mono room ambience faders. Mix these into a stereo signal or use them independently to create a realistic sound, as if you were recording at Fame Studios.
