Extraterrestrial Saxophone is based on the highly skilled playing techniques of Severin Neubauer. He skillfully utilized a variety of techniques, including the amount of air blown, the shape of his mouth, and the handling of the reed, to bring out the sonic potential of the saxophone.

Extraterrestrial Saxophone meticulously records Severin Neubauer's performances, and creates innovative, experimental soundscapes by running the instrument through a variety of effects and changing settings. Some of these sounds were recorded using a guitar cabinet and an SM57.
