The Marshall JMP 2203 was released in 1975 and quickly replaced the Plexi as Marshall's flagship amp, setting the standard for all rock amps.
Artists as diverse as Jeff Beck, Andy Summers, Tom Morello, AC/DC, Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest, Slayer, and the Pixies have all used this amp.
This Marshall JMP 2203 plug-in, a collaboration between Softube and Marshall, meticulously emulates Marshall's reference 2203 amplifier.
Hearing this sound will ignite your rock spirit.
Rock 'n' Roll History Here
The JMP 2203 was born in response to demand for a master volume. Amps without a master volume, like the Marshall Plexi, required a very high volume to achieve distortion. The JMP 2203's master volume allows you to distort your sound without turning up the volume, dramatically expanding the sonic options available to guitarists.
Keeping the preamp gain low and cranking the power amp's full distortion brings back the 1960s Marshall sound. Turning the master volume down and cranking the preamp volume creates a more edgy, present distortion. All of this has been modeled with the utmost precision in the plug-in. Now you can enjoy the sound of the Marshall JMP 2203 both as a native plug-in and as a module in Softube's guitar and bass platform, Amp Room.
