Reviving the 124-year-old piano that graced classic pop albums.
""Chateau Piano"" is a piano sound source capturing the iconic sounds of the 1970s, the golden age of pop and rock.

Deep within Château Derouville, north of Paris, the memory of pop music still lives on. This is no ordinary piano. It's a 1901 Steinway Model B grand piano—formerly owned by film composer Michel Magne, its sound etched into countless classic albums by artists including Elton John, David Bowie, and Fleetwood Mac.

The legendary Strawberry Studios, which closed its doors in 1985 and was long forgotten, is now a cherished treasure. Now, in 2020, a passionate new owner has reopened its doors. Following meticulous restoration by renowned tuner Bastian Elbin, this 124-year-old piano has been reborn with an even richer sound, while retaining its original appearance.

The moment you touch the keys, scenes from that time transcend time and emerge—the sound still gently ignites the listener's memories.

Chateau Piano contains a wide range of characters, from the piano's original pure tone to creative textures created with vintage processing, in one library. You can adjust the sense of space with high-quality reverb, add vintage-style warble, and sculpt the tone with low-pass and high-pass filters. The tightness control also allows you to freely adjust the attack of your performance.

All patches contain a blend of three selectable signals: ・Signal

Close: A delicate and intimate sound captured directly from the piano strings.
Room: A wide stereo sound that balances the natural resonance of the ""George Sand Room"" with close microphones.
Super Close: A more forward-looking pop sound with microphones placed on either side of the hammer.
Mix: A production-ready mix with scooped processing and bright adjustments.
Tape: A sound that adds warmth, saturation, and light compression from analog tape.
Compressed: A sound that adds weight and aggressiveness through parallel compression.
Chorus: A spacious, '80s-style sparkle filtered through a vintage Roland Dimension D.
Distorted: A gritty, characterful sound with added saturation and harmonics from external equipment.

・Presets

37 presets, organized into six categories, are included to help you start playing and creating right away. They're designed as a starting point to spark inspiration.

Natural: A pure sound that faithfully captures the pristine resonance of the chateau's Steinway B piano. Ideal for delicate melodies and realistic performance expression.

Classic: A nostalgic and emotive tone reminiscent of records from the 1970s and '80s. A texture that feels like time travel to a golden age.

Intimate: A delicate and expressive preset recorded at close range. Ideal for mesmerizing ballads and understated scores.

Lush: A rich, spacious sound with generous use of reverb and chorus. Ideal for beautiful, space-filling ambiences.

Driven: A powerful, edgy tone that utilizes tape and distorted signals. Creates energy that cuts through the mix.

Effected: A creatively and boldly processed piano sound. An experimental and unique world of sound that goes beyond the boundaries of traditional pianos.
