From Elvis to King Tubby to Radiohead, the distinctive effect of tape echo can be heard on essential records throughout the decades. Hardware analog tape delays have been costly to maintain, and plug-in versions have traditionally been too clean to be a complete replacement.

Softube's Tape Echoes is a one-of-a-kind tape effect bursting with coloration and uniqueness, featuring unique features like DRIVE for preamp and distortion control, DIRT for speed and wobble control, and a JUST DIRT setting for an old-school sound.
It supports DAW automation and includes modules for Amp Room and Modular. Experience the filthy sound with an undeniable analog feel.

Immerse yourself in distortion
The unique DRIVE and DIRT functions allow you to intuitively create a subtle realistic feel or add extreme saturation.

DRIVE provides preamp and tape distortion, while DIRT provides parameters for tape speed, wobble, flutter, dropout, and frequency response. Set DIRT to JUST DIRT and turn off the reverb to get classic tape wobble and grit without the repetition.

This method is perfect for giving your loops a lo-fi feel.

Add more tape charm with taps
The Number of Taps knob lets you capture the incredible depth of classic tape delay hardware.
The Number of Taps knob emulates the sound, behavior, and timing of an analog tape delay head, allowing you to easily switch between 1, 2, or 3 taps.
This feedback modulates and emphasizes the taps for a natural, analog-like effect.

Endless Versatility
Tape Echoes features an incredibly realistic analog delay and spring reverb that behaves just like the hardware itself.
Use the Delay Time fader to set the timing of the first tap; the other two follow suit, automatically timing accordingly.
Place the reverb in parallel or before the delay line to seamlessly transition from clean analog to full-on distortion.
You can also lower the Delay Time and Reverb to create a truly gritty, dirty, straight-up tape effect.
