What is Granular Synthesis?
Granular synthesis chops audio into tiny fragments called “grains,” which can be rearranged, layered, and manipulated for pitch, size, and density. These grains can be stretched over time, reversed, or soaked in lush ambience. The result? Evolving textures, glitchy rhythms, and ethereal soundscapes. With SKIES, you can push this technique to its creative limits.

The Blend control provides access to stereo spread, feedback, and reverb, enabling everything from subtle stereo wiggles to cavernous soundscapes. The Freeze function is perfect for creating loops, drones, ambient pads, and more on the fly. With its extensive CV input options, SKIES thrives in modular environments, allowing dynamic modulation to further evolve your sound.
