A modern take on a classic sound
The Lindell Audio 7X-500 is a faithful reproduction of the company's single-channel FET compressor/limiter. Using a FET (field-effect transistor) feedback design, it reinterprets the legendary ""1176R sound"" in Lindell's own style.

Add natural tightness to pad sounds with a modest setting, or increase the ratio to 100:1 and apply it to a drum bus for an aggressive pump reminiscent of classic rock albums.

Quick response and edgy distortion that master transients

Many compressors struggle with materials with rapid attack times, such as rap and metal vocals, but the 7X-500 is different.
When set to fast attack/fast release, it responds extremely quickly to the input signal, firmly controlling transients. Driving it even harder adds edgy distortion to the mix, perfectly matching distorted electric guitars.

Faithful reproduction plus plug-in-only features
The 7X-500 not only reproduces the same diverse sounds as the hardware, but also offers expanded functionality exclusive to plug-ins.
The high-pass sidechain filter and Mix control make it easy to perform parallel compression without a send effect.
Other features include stereo compatibility, continuously variable attack and release times, and an ""Analog"" switch that adds noise, power line hum, and trans saturation, allowing for flexible processing.
