OCTOPUS is a powerful ART controller with 8 velocity CVs and 8 drum triggers, outputting 8 ART channels.

Used with ART oscillators, OCTOPUS makes connecting a modular system to a computer, hardware MIDI sequencer, or MIDI keyboard simpler than ever before.

Each ART channel can play polyphonic notes, monophonic notes, or multi-channel polyphony using the built-in voice manager. OCTOPUS allows you to play more voices and notes with a single controller than was once possible with modulars. ART's high-speed control signals also allow for tight processing of performance information with minimal time lag.

To get started with ART, choose either OCTOPUS or ART V/Oct Quantizer.

OCTOPUS is not a CV/GATE converter that supports MIDI to 1V/Oct.

About Tiptop Audio's ART Series
ART is a new Eurorack modular standard proposed by Tiptop Audio. Its main purpose is to make polyphonic construction simpler in Eurorack. Until now, building polyphonic synths in Eurorack required a great many modules and cumbersome patching, but with the introduction of this new ART system, many of these problems can be eliminated.

The ART signal is a digital protocol for note information, including note on/off, pitch bend, velocity, etc. The transmission speed is over 40 times faster than MIDI, and the oscillators are tuned with high precision. ART signals are transmitted over commonly used 3.5 mm patch cables for compatibility and easy patching as well as analog 1V/Oct pitch CV and modulation CV, and can be distributed using multiple or stacked cables. In addition, Polytip, a multi-channel cable that utilizes a USB-C type plug, will be available soon. ART modules compatible with Polytip will allow even simpler patching.

Thus, ART signals are very useful and breathe new life into Eurorack Modular, but they are digital signals that are completely different from conventional analog signals such as 1V/Oct pitch and gate. Therefore, ART systems require ART-compatible oscillators and controllers.
