BFD Crush is an expansion pack for BFD3, BFD2, and BFD Eco that captures the full power of the Crush Drums Sublime AXM drum kit. Specially tuned and processed by BFD engineers, it produces a loud, sophisticated sound just by loading it.

This kit is a perfect match for genres ranging from progressive to technical rock and metal. In addition to a full set of Meinl Byzance cymbals, stack cymbals are also included.

The BFD Crush kit was recorded using the engineer's choice of premium microphones, perfectly suited to heavy music.

Three variations of the kick drum were recorded: damped, fully open, and without the resonating drumhead. Audix D6, Sennheiser E602, and AKG D112 mics were used. An AEA R84 ribbon microphone was also used to add different textures to the kick sound.

Three different snares were recorded with eight variations, capturing a wide range of tones, including damping, resonant tones, and low/high tunings. For maximum sonic flexibility, both dynamic and condenser mics were used, with a ribbon mic included.

Six different toms were recorded to complement the snare and kick. This kit includes two floor toms and four rack toms, allowing you to use three sets of lower- or higher-tuned toms. You can also use all six to create a more progressive kit! These toms were recorded with the same microphone set as the kick drum, ensuring a perfect balance and overall cohesion.

The kit also includes ten Meinl Byzance cymbals, recorded with smooth-sounding condenser microphones. Three sets of more aggressive-sounding cymbal stacks are also available.

To add more vibrancy to the drum kit, we've also brought back the tiled surface and PZM microphones originally used on the BFD Eldorado sessions. This creates a fantastically huge room sound, providing a solid foundation for your mix. The mono microphone placed in front of the kit can also be heavily compressed to bring a fatter sound to your production.
