BFD London Sessions is an expansion pack for BFD3 and BFD Eco for the standard library recorded at London's AIR Studios, which was included in BFD2. Ten vintage and modern drum kits were recorded through a custom Neve console, featuring dramatic room acoustics.
With over 80 kit pieces across 49GB of data, BFD London Sessions offers a wide range of sonic variety, providing a wide range of mixing options. The atmosphere of AIR Studios' famous Lyndhurst Hall was captured with two pairs of room microphones, including a mid-side (MS) setup, recreating everything from pure mono to rich, expansive stereo. Three microphones aimed at the snare and a distant room microphone capture the character and spaciousness of the sound.
All recordings were made using the Neve console's AIR Montserrat preamps and Prism converters, contributing to a warm, detailed sound. The punchy direct sound, lustrous overheads, and room microphones create a diverse range of rock sounds that complement any style of music, including funk, jazz, pop, and country.
