The BFD2 JEX Expansion Kit features a high-end X-Drums X-otica handmade custom kit. Recorded in the same room conditions as BFD Jazz & Funk and BFD Percussion.

The JEX kit features a six-ply Keller maple shell with a beautiful Sapeli Pommele woodgrain finish, producing a high-quality, stable low-end sound. A hand-rubbed tan oil finish achieves an exceptionally bright tone.

- The kick drum was recorded using two different pedals.
- Tom drums were recorded using sticks, mallets, brushes, and a hot rod.
- The kick drum was also recorded using a Yamaha SubKick microphone to capture low-end nuances.
- A snare drum was added as bonus content from Jazz & Funk.
