The Maselec MEA-2's EQ curve is not a simple mathematical formula, but is designed so that the sound resonates deeply with the listener's heart and emotions.

While many EQs use textbook, one-size-fits-all formulas, the MEA-2 features a unique, hand-tuned, asymmetrical Q (bandwidth) curve that delivers an almost artistic sophistication. Music that remains timeless is something that is created based on sensibilities rather than numbers.

Smooth and expansive shelving EQ
The MEA-2's shelving EQ smoothly adjusts a wider range of frequencies than usual, preventing unnatural and abrupt changes in sound. As a result, the high range maintains a delicate shine without harshness, and the low range produces a deep, rich sound without being muddy.

The Maselec MEA-2 is newly equipped with an independent Mid/Side mode for all bands, which was not present in the original equipment. The legendary Maselec curve has been further refined with modern Mid/Side functionality.

Many EQ plug-ins have a rough mid/side adjustment function, but MEA-2 allows precise mid/side adjustment for each band individually.
