Mike Campbell is responsible for many of the iconic guitar playing that's become familiar on Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' songs, from flavorful rhythm guitar to passionate lead guitar.
Campbell purchased a Telecaster equipped with a Bigsby tremolo and a powerful onboard boost function known as the ""Destruct"" circuit from a former guitar student in Florida, and the guitar later came to be affectionately nicknamed ""Red Dog.""
