TK Audio’s flagship preamp, DP2, has been replaced by the all new DP3.

The DP3 is a dual channel preamp with a unique hybrid design featuring both vintage and modern circuitry.
The mid-range crunch of the germanium sound found in the mid-'60s, the low-mid punch and fatness of the British Class A sound of the early '70s, and the more modern characteristic tones of the '80s and '90s.
It combines TK audio's proven input stage and germanium circuitry with a vintage Class A stage, as well as a new saturation circuit that provides a wide variety of character choices.

The input stage is designed around a high quality Swedish Lundahl transformer, followed by a selectable saturation and germanium circuit for more coloring and harmonic addition.
While TK Audio's previous preamplifiers had switching output stages, the DP3 instead has a Class A stage inserted before the output level control, allowing the transformer to be driven harder without overloading the A/D converter, making the output less impedance sensitive.
The Class A stage uses a custom-made Carnhill transformer that produces a fat, punchy sound with midrange response and warm treble.

The Hi-Z instrument input has a separate activation switch so you can always leave your instrument connected.
Hi-Z Direct mode bypasses the input transformer and input stage and sends the instrument signal directly to the HPF saturation circuit and germanium circuit. The direct mode gain is +14dB, making it ideal for bass recording in conjunction with a class A stage.

Sweepable HPF from 30Hz to 400Hz allows you to precisely create bass frequencies.
