The horror of the wonderful sounds produced by musical instruments is accompanied by various unnecessary noises. All parameters of this gate are defined by the envelope follower, so this is the most transparent solution available on the market. The gate responds lightning fast to any changes in playing style. From staccato to long, sustained notes, even singing lead tones are fine.

""The Key and the Gate"" can be used as a simple noise gate by connecting the gate to the inputs and outputs on the top, but the real magic happens when you use the ""Key"" function.

Plug your guitar directly into the side jack and follow your normal signal chain from there. The pedal splits the signal internally and uses the unaltered guitar signal as a reference for the gate. Tone is not absorbed and sustain is not lost. The gate uses pure guitar signal, so you can leave it on all the time. It doesn't matter if you're using a clean channel or a dirt channel, or if you have a dirt pedal between the key and the gate.

It's also super easy to dial in, just one knob.

You can also inject other signals into key inputs to control the gate, giving you endless opportunities for side-chaining in the studio, and you can even connect it to an LFO and use it as a weird tremolo.
