[What is the difference between TUSQ materials?]

TUSQ nuts produce a rich tone without the unevenness found in ivory, bone, and other natural materials. Bone and ivory have hard and soft parts (grain) in each piece, which prevents consistent transmission of vibrations to the top of the guitar. TUSQ nuts are designed to more efficiently transfer the proper frequencies from the strings to the body of the guitar.
