Of all the instruments we can use, our own voice is most deeply connected to our inner thoughts and emotions. PIPE is designed to provide new expressiveness beyond the words and thoughts that can be expressed with the voice. It can be used not only by singers who are specially trained to sing, but also by musicians who are looking for experimental sounds. You can play using a variety of playing techniques and algorithms, such as drone sounds, detailed noises, various percussive sounds, melodic lead sounds, chorus, FX, and bass.

A custom-made contact microphone specially designed for PIPE is connected to the part that corresponds to the mouthpiece of a wind instrument. The diaphragm is made of brass, so it is very robust and resistant to moisture, and is designed not to break easily even if you blow into it or shout loudly.
There are three types of dedicated microphones available, and the one that comes standard with the PIPE is the Standard type, which produces a good mid-to-high sound. The Flat type, which has a more natural sound, and the Bassy type, which has a thick sound with emphasized bass, are available separately.

THE PIPE is equipped with 12 types of algorithms with a wide variety of sounds, and each one is worth exploring and mastering as a separate instrument. Each requires its own technique and has a unique sound character. It is important to find a unique way to play each algorithm to get the best sound. Remember that the PIPE is as much about sound as your voice.

The knob parameters for each algorithm are printed on the side of the handheld part, so if you remember the characteristics of each algorithm, you will be able to play it right away.

◯Product Configuration
THE PIPE consists of a handheld part that you hold in your hand and a small breakout box with L/R audio output jacks (1/4 inch) and a DC input for power. The handheld part and the breakout box are connected with a single cable that includes both audio signal output and DC power.
The handheld part consists of contacts, voice, and microphone (connected with a 1/4 inch jack), electronic components, and controls. The microphone input is a universal 1/4 inch jack, so you can easily connect dynamic microphones and pickup microphones in addition to the included contact microphone. The microphone is attached to a stand or inside or on the surface of an acoustic instrument such as a drum, guitar, or trumpet. In this way, you can use the microphone input jack as an external input and use THE PIPE as an effector.
