Bluing is a process that protects steel from rust, and is named for the blue-black patina that results from this process. We love the look. And if you've been to Make Noise, you may have seen the first blue steel there. It's our Make Noise sign, made by our dear friend, artist and welder Eric Rowe of Vector Custom Fabricating. We worked with our friend, artist and metalworker Justin Turcotte to build sturdy system stands to support the Make Noise Black and Gold Shared System. They were designed by Tony, Justin and Kelly, and handcrafted in Justin's studio just around the corner from Make Noise.

CV Bus was originally designed for Alessandro Cortini's personal Make Noise system. It visually displays the level, rate and polarity of up to four control signals shared across patches. These four control signals are color-coded and distributed throughout the system at the center, allowing for quick, clean and intuitive patching. This distribution method is different from typical multis, as the control signals are displayed under their possible destinations, allowing shorter patch cables to be used. The color coding and visual display make navigating complex patches easier and more intuitive. Typically, CV Buses are used to share the most important control signals within a patch, such as the Master Clock.

The CV Bus also provides the tools you need to integrate the Make Noise system with the outside world. A 1/4" mono input with plenty of gain allows you to bring external signals into the system. The optimal 10Vpp signal level is visually displayed. A high-quality stereo line driver converts the signal level of powerful modular synthesizers to common line levels. There are left and right mini-jack inputs, one master volume control and a TRS stereo 1/4" output jack. From this output, you can send a long cable to a PA system or headphones. AC coupling and built-in limiter circuit (with visual display) prevent damage to your ears or PA system during experimental patching.
