Make Noise's FUNCTION is a versatile module with a variety of functions, including envelope, LFO, slew limiter, and sample & hold. It can be used for a variety of purposes.

Make Noise Function is a versatile module that can be used as an envelope, LFO, slew limiter, sample & hold, and many other functions. It is a module designed by extracting one channel from the company's best-selling module Maths, but by adding a HANG input that is not available on Maths, it can be used for even more functions.

When used as an envelope, it functions as an AD envelope by inputting a trigger signal to the TRIG input, and as an ASR envelope by inputting a gate signal to the signal IN. RISE sets the attack time and FALL sets the decay. External CV signals can also be controlled with the CV input of each parameter. Using the both input allows you to control both RISE and FALL simultaneously. The envelope curve can be controlled with the LOG/EXP knob. The generated envelope is output in positive phase from the + output and in reverse phase from the - output.

When used as an LFO, press the CYCLE button to turn on cycle mode. This allows the envelope to loop without connecting anything to the TRIG input, allowing it to be used as an LFO. There is no knob to adjust the frequency (speed) like with a typical LFO, so adjust the speed with the RISE, FALL, and LOG/EXP knobs. The generated LFO is output in positive phase from the + output and in reverse phase from the - output.

When used as a slew limiter, or portamento, connect a CV source to the CV input at the top left of the panel. RISE sets the rising time, and FALL sets the falling time.

When used as a sample and hold, connect a clock signal or gate signal to the HANG input. The voltage generated by FUNCTION is held while the gate connected to HANG is rising. It is more effective to input a clock with a long gate time or a pulse wave with a pulse width close to 100%.

The EOR (End of RISE) output outputs a gate at the end of the RISE, and the EOC (End of CYCLE) output outputs a gate at the end of the CYCLE. This can be used as a trigger delay or divider.

It is a versatile module that can be used for various purposes depending on your ideas and how you perceive the functions.
