Super Gemini is a powerful 20-voice polyphonic, bi-timbral analog hybrid synthesizer.
[Product Specifications]
■DDS 1 (Oscillator 1)
Equipped with a FPGA-based Super Wave oscillator core + centroid oscillator and six sister oscillators that use dynamically samplable waveforms
Phase-shifted in stereo field, and generate a wide and thick single oscillator sound in one of two “super modes”.
Waveforms: sine, sawtooth, square, triangle, noise, and up to 64 alternate waveforms
■DDS 2 (Oscillator 2)
An FPGA-based oscillator core with an algorithmic core that operates at very high sample rates
Waveforms: sine, sawtooth, square, triangle, variable noise (pink, white, blue), pulse wave with variable pulse width
Can be hard-synced to DDS 1
LFO mode
Ring modulation mode
Square and sine sub-oscillator mode
■Mixer
Controls the balance between the audio signals of DDS 1 and DDS 2, or between DDS 1 and the sub-oscillator
In shift mode, this parameter becomes a pan control, allowing you to position layers within the stereo field
■Voltage-Controlled Filter
4-pole, 24dB/Oct analog low-pass filter (capable of self-oscillation), using a classic poly-synth filter design from Sound Semiconductor (SSI)
1-pole, 6dB/Oct analog high-pass filter, placed before the low-pass filter
Two overdrive settings
Selectable keyboard tracking mode
Modulation by ENV 1 and/or ENV2, LFO 1 and DDS 2
Voltage-controlled amplifier
Analog VCA with selectable velocity sensitivity
Modulation by ENV 2 or one of two fixed envelopes, LFO 1 and DDS 2
■Envelope
ENV 1: 6-stage envelope (attack/hold, attack, decay/hold, decay, sustain, release), invert, loop mode, selectable key tracking
ENV 2: 5-stage envelope (attack, decay/hold, decay, sustain, release)
■LFO 1
Main LFO with freely assignable functions, selectable low frequency mode and high frequency mode
Can be used as a standard LFO, third oscillator, drone, or audio rate modulation
Waveforms: triangle, inverted sawtooth, sample & hold, square, all waveforms currently set in DDS 1
Delay and left/right phase offset controls for binaural modulation
Free-running, reset, and one-shot modes
Synchronizable to arpeggiator and sequencer or external clock source
■DDS modulator
Pitch modulation of LFO 1 and ENV 1 (DDS 1 and/or DDS 2)
Selectable “spur mode” and detune spread control for DDS 1
Wave modulation allows the two DDS 1 waveforms to be morphed using LFO 1, ENV 1 or manually
Pulse width control of the pulse wave of DDS 2, which can be modulated by LFO 1, ENV 1 or a dedicated PWM LFO
Cross modulation and ring modulation between DDS 1 and DDS 2 are possible
■ Effects
Each layer has a 24-bit dual-mode stereo chorus with three types of settings available
Each layer has a 24-bit stereo delay with clock synchronization and modulation available
The delay freeze function allows you to create a sound-on-sound loop while playing
■Performance Control Section
2-axis bender with dedicated controls for LFO 2 trigger, DDS 1/2 pitch, and VCF modulation
Variable portamento that can be set for each layer
Playable spring-lever keyboard octave selector
Rate and delay controls, selectable trigger modes, six selectable waveforms (sine, reverse sawtooth, sample & hold, square, sawtooth, sample & glide), LFO 2 with dedicated controls for rate, pitch, VCF and VCA modulation
■Controls for expressive performance
61-key semi-weighted keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch and velocity
Specially designed ribbon controller for expressive modulation control
Adaptive Downbend function that allows pitch bending of notes several octaves below the note being played
Compatible with MPE performance using an external MPE controller
■ Overall Controls and Parameters
Master Volume, Tempo, Lower Layer Detune Control
Independent Hold Mode for each layer
Selectable Keyboard Modes for Performance: Single, Dual, Split
Independent Layer Select Buttons
■Modulation Matrix
Intuitive 8x8 modulation matrix with pre-defined sources and destinations
Direct parameter mapping allows for up to 25 additional destinations to be modulated
LEDs clearly indicate mapping and modulation amount
■Voice Assignment Modes
Four selectable voice assignment modes, including two monophonic modes and two polyphonic modes
Eight unison modes, including various stacked voice modes and two types of filter separation per voice
Dynamic voice assignment when unison is enabled in both polyphonic modes
Binaural option allows you to choose between 10 true stereo “Super Voices” or 20 non-binaural mono voices in single layer mode
Front panel control to disable binaural audio output and switch to full true mono audio output
■Arpeggiator and Sequencer
Multi-mode arpeggiator with hold function and MIDI sync
64-step sequencer with programmable steps, slides, accents, rests and sequence length, with MIDI sync
Clock parameters allow easy adjustment of clock division settings and swing for each layer
■ Memory and File Management
256 performances (each containing two patches), 256 patches, 64 alternate waveforms for DDS 1, 16 sequences
