Altiverb 8 from Audio Ease is a convolution reverb plug-in for Mac OS X. For example, if you run a vocal track through Altiverb, it will sound as if it is being sung in a famous concert hall or theater, with amazing realism. A convolution reverb is a sound effect that uses the reverberations and acoustic characteristics recorded from an actual space to function as a reverb.

Since its release in 2001, Altiverb has been recognized as having the world's highest level of spatial reproduction quality, and the variety of spaces recorded is also extensive, ranging from the Sydney Opera House to the cockpit of a jumbo jet.

In addition to famous halls, theaters and recording studios, there is a wide variety of reverbs. Cathedrals, churches, stadiums, offices, cars (Fiat, Ford, Mitsubishi and many others), kitchens, toilets, parks, outdoors, forests, caves, vintage reverb classics (L480, L2 24, RE201, etc.), steel plate and spring reverbs, piano resonators, inside vases, next door, upstairs, etc. All of these are recordings of the acoustic characteristics of actual spaces and equipment.

It is also possible to create settings using a wide range of parameters, such as EQ and 3-band dump. You can even adjust which parts of the instrument are being played on the stage in the hall.

■ Dolby Atmos output support
Conventional IRs recorded at multiple microphone positions can be realized as Atmos-compatible reverbs with up to 9.1.6 channels. The new meter display and mixer allow you to adjust each output (XL version only).
■ Cloud size
Lowering this value will cause the reverb component to be focused around the position of the input audio. When the sound source is panned, the reverb component will also follow (XL version only).
■ Output Mixer
It is possible to set each of the output section settings, such as SOLO/Solo, MUTE/Mute, GAIN/Gain, DELAY/Delay, etc. (XL version only).
■ Pan-following Reverb
Send the sound source to a surround bus of up to 9.1.6 channels. The mono reverb will follow the movement of the input audio (XL version only).
■ Screen size
The plug-in screen size can be adjusted to a fixed value of 70-125%.
■ M1-compatible
Native support for Macs with Intel CPUs and Apple silicon.
■ Seamless, noise-free
There is no audio breakup or noise when switching IRs, changing parameters, or using stage positions.

In addition to the conventional iLok USB key, it is also possible to record license information on the computer itself. It is possible to operate it with only an iLok account.
