Why not step into the mysterious realm of the Aztec death whistle? This extraordinary ceramic instrument, shaped like a skull and known as the world's chilliest musical instrument, was used by the Mexica in spiritual ceremonies and on the battlefield to strike fear into their enemies.

UDW X, performed by MNTRA founder, award-winning composer, and multi-instrumentalist Brian D'Oliva, proudly presents this sound source from a rare collection of ancient Colombian death whistles. These fascinating instruments were created through years of meticulous field research and development while Brian was composing for the soundtracks of several prominent video games. Each death whistle is named to represent its unique characteristics. All of the whistles are hand-carved and produce a sound that is unlike any other.

With a video game-inspired interface, UDW X allows you to control a large number of dynamic parameters in a non-linear way at the same time, giving you a wealth of nuanced musical expression.

UDW X is an attractive product that introduces a unique approach to ultrasonic sampling, reborn through the powerful functions of the MNDALA 2 acoustic synthesis engine. Combining various sound source samples with the dynamic sound shaping capabilities of MNDALA 2 provides a vast canvas for endless creative experimentation and exploratory sound design.

This expansion pack has more than double the samples of the UDW and 60 new and fascinating presets. It incorporates the cutting-edge features of MNDALA 2.4.0, from sample-start modulation and detailed multi-microphone position recording to the latest custom-designed DSP effect algorithms.
