POLARIS is a modern string orchestra sound library that mimics the sound of classic synthesizers, created through a collaboration between Brian Transeau (also known as BT), a Grammy-nominated composer and pioneer of electronic music, and SPITFIRE AUDIO.

This library was recorded at the famous AIR Lyndhurst Hall by top-class contemporary string players in London, and then resampled using classic and rare synthesizers (such as Fairlight and EMU E-II), giving it a complex yet familiar tone.

A tone with features never seen before

It has been recorded with a configuration that places the double bass, cello and viola, which go well with synthesizer sounds, in the center, and the violins spread out wide to the left and right (1st violin x6, 2nd violin x6, viola x5, cello x4, double bass x3), achieving a unique tone that is difficult to obtain with other high-quality string libraries.

In addition, you can operate deep samples of classic hardware such as the CS-80, Lexicon 224, Prophet-T8, Oberheim OB-Xa, Matrix 12, Jupiter 8, and Prophet-5 with your fingertips.

eDNA Engine/Interface

The eDNA interface allows you to select and play two sound sources from a library of 129 different articulations. You can manipulate the sounds using FX, gates, etc., and by layering and mixing them, you can create completely new timbres that match your music. Furthermore, the new granular engine in this library allows you to customize the sounds, and you can create sounds that have never been heard before.
