SYMPHONIC ORGAN recreates the majestic cinematic sound known from such blockbuster scores as Interstellar, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and TRON. The chapel organ of England's prestigious Rugby School was recorded in its entirety.
The huge cathedral-sized organ with its 3,721 pipes in the relaxed atmosphere of the chapel creates a sound that is both grand and immediately usable. To capture the depth, power and beauty of this one-of-a-kind organ, we teamed up with Andy Richards, a world-renowned composer, producer and organ expert.
We have carefully selected stop combinations from him, so you can play beautiful tones immediately. Andy Richards is known for his work on numerous huge film scores, including Slumdog Millionaire, as well as recordings by iconic artists such as Grace Jones and George Michael.
All pitches were recorded in multiple mic positions to achieve the ultimate in realism and control. The library also includes 50 warp presets using the eDNA engine from SPITFIRE. The organ is known as a versatile instrument that is used in a wide range of applications, from perfecting the sound of an organ movie to musical works, and is perfect for adding depth, power and beauty to orchestral scores.
Paul Thomson, one of the co-founders of Spitfire, felt that this organ had to be sampled the moment he heard it.
This cathedral-sized organ has four manuals, 71 stops, and 3,721 pipes. It was designed to perfectly match other SPITFIRE instruments and film scoring production, and it is the definitive organ sound source.
High playability In many ways, organs of this size can be said to be like original analog synthesizers. You can create brass, wind, and string timbres by combining an almost dizzying number of stops and pedals.
Because of its complexity, people who are not familiar with the instrument may feel overwhelmed before they even start playing. The important thing to note is that this sound source was created by staff who are completely familiar with the organ, such as the organist at Rugby School and the head of academic music, “James Williams”, and the organist “Andy Richards”.
The manuals (keys) and pedals have already been carefully selected, saving you a huge amount of work and allowing you to concentrate on your performance.
You can choose from 16 manual combinations, 13 pedal combinations, additional basses, and 8 ensemble types to create your own sound.
All pitches are recorded and included, so you get natural reverberation. You can choose the default mix or adjust the sliders for each of the six microphone positions (from inside the organ to the more widely reverberating ambient mic) to control it.
They are sorted in order of dynamics, from the quietest to the loudest, and it is also possible to blend presets by selecting multiple stops.
In addition, it includes 50 warp presets created from original content and refined using the eDNA engine, allowing you to create your own pads and textures to enhance your compositions.
