SDX - FIELDS OF ROCK is an SDX expansion library produced by Tom Dalgety, a recording engineer, mixer, and producer who has won numerous awards (he has worked with Ghost, Rammstein, Pixies, Royal Blood, etc.) and sampled by Mat Hector, a drummer (he has worked with Iggy Pop, Gutterdammerung, etc.).

This product contains seven drum kits that condense the essence of rock drumming from the 1970s to the present day. Each drum kit was recorded by making the most of the characteristics of each room at “Rockfield Studios,” a dairy farm in Wales, UK, which was turned into a studio for the recording.

Rockfield Studios, visited by many bands active in the 1970s, including Queen, Rush, Judas Priest, and Hawkwind, became a place of creativity that produced some of the greatest rock songs of all time. However, even after the heyday of classic rock, Rockfield Studios continued to be a key location in the recording world, attracting top artists from all genres, including Oasis, Coldplay, and Manic Street Preachers.

This product aims to not only reproduce the essence of rock that transcends genres recorded in the various rooms of such a studio but also to add modern technology, advanced ideas, and ingenuity for new inspiration. Using all of the wonderful vintage microphones and outboard equipment available at “Rockfield Studios,” the library was recorded using 14-channel hardware tape emulation to reproduce the unmistakable warm and saturated sound of tape.

The SDX library has appeared, covering a wide range of genres that cannot be categorized as “rock.” This drum collection makes it easy to create sounds from the good old days to the present day.
