This module is made by Tiptop Audio, an up-and-coming American garage manufacturer. It is an analog envelope generator with CV control.

Overview
The Z4000 NS is a CV-controlled analog envelope generator. It has a built-in CV processor for CV control, scaling and inversion of the envelope shape. The Z4000 generates an envelope consisting of four classic segments: Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release. Each segment can be set manually using the knobs or dynamically with CV control.

Feature
The control knobs for the Attack, Decay and Release segments are scaled. The first 0-50% of the knob rotation allows high resolution control in the millisecond range.

The output level allows full control of the signal reaching up to 10V in either polarity, can be inverted to the opposite polarity or clipped using the CV-controlled scaler. A two-color LED indicates both polarities while crossfading.

The Attack Slope switch allows the selection of a logarithmic or exponential curve for the attack segment. This subtle effect is useful for fine-tuning the attack segment slope. A shoot button is provided for manually triggering the envelope. The Z4000 also allows you to create legato notes using the retrigger input when using the classic keyboard interface.

The smoothness and attack of the Z4000 is made possible by a 4-segment active charge discrete circuit, an enhanced version of the classic 2-segment Rise/Fall transient generator circuit.
