Pioneer DJ / PLX-CRSS12 - Hybrid Turntable

The PLX-CRSS12, the latest model in the PLX series of digital-analog hybrid turntables, has just been released! It is the world's first turntable to support both analog record playback and tone arm-free DVS playback using digital files, so you can play records as you always have, but you can also play DVS without using a record needle.

In DIGITAL VINYL mode, the newly-installed MAGVEL CLAMP reads the record directly, allowing you to control the digital file music without going through the tone arm. This eliminates the worry of needle jumps and allows you to perform dynamic scratch performances with the same feel as a record. In addition, when playing analog records, it inherits the high operability of the PLX-1000.

With the PLX-CRSS12, you can quickly adjust the weight of the record using the dial on the top of the MAGVEL CLAMP, so you can get straight into your performance smoothly without having to go through the trouble of changing the slip mat or slip sheet.

Customize the torque level for the desired operability
The UTILITY setting allows you to adjust the turntable's rotation torque in three stages, so you can easily achieve the feel of operation that suits your preferences. You can choose from “High”, which achieves a quick rise in sound at the start of playback, “Low”, which follows the traditional torque that many DJs using turntables are familiar with, and “Mid”, which achieves a balance between the rise in sound and the traditional feel of operation.

You can also change the time it takes for the turntable to stop.
The switch on the front of the main unit allows you to adjust the time it takes for the turntable to stop when you press the STOP button in three stages. The “Min” setting gives a sharp stop. The “Mid” setting follows the traditional product and is the setting that many DJs who use turntables are familiar with. You can choose from “Max”, which is longer than the previous two settings and gives a more impressive representation of the end of the performance.

4 PERFORMANCE PADs with MIDI mapping capability
The 4 PERFORMANCE PADs are located in front of the turntables. You can quickly call up HOT CUE and SAMPLER, so even when performing with a DJ mixer that does not have pads, you can operate them on the turntables. When using Serato DJ Pro, you can use HOT CUE, SAMPLER ER, STEMS, SCRATCH BANK, ROLL, SAVED LOOP, and HOT CUE, SAMPLER, TRACK SEPARATION, SAMPLE SCRATCH, PAD FX1, and BEAT JUMP can be used as the default pad mode when using rekordbox. Furthermore, the pads can be MIDI-mapped, so you can assign other functions to them as you like. You can also switch the controls to pads 1-4 and 5-8, allowing you to perform using a total of eight pads.

OLED display allows you to quickly check playback information at hand
The PLX-CRSS12 is equipped with an OLED display on the top of the turntable. In addition to the tempo range and the key when using the STEP PITCH function, when connected to a PC/Mac running DJ software via USB, you can check the BPM, key and deck number at a glance. You can also quickly access the UTILITY settings, so you can concentrate on your performance without having to look away from the PC/Mac or DJ mixer.

Switching Power Supply
A switching power supply is used to eliminate the vibration and magnetic flux leakage of a transformer power supply, and by suppressing noise, high-resolution sound quality is achieved.

Zinc die-cast
As with the PLX-1000, the upper part of the main unit is made of high-mass zinc die-cast, and the lower part is made of 8 mm thick resin, to optimize the main unit structure and vibration-damping materials.

Gold-plated RCA terminals The RCA terminals also use machined parts with gold plating, the same as the PLX-1000, and by ensuring a stable connection with the plug and transmitting the phono signal directly, it reproduces the sound of analog records with high quality.

Robust and precise design in a unified matte black color
The PLX-CRSS12 is based on a matte black color, and even the metal parts such as the tone arm have been given a special coating. The careful attention to detail gives the impression of a robust and precise design.

Compatible with DJ software Serato DJ Pro and rekordbox
This unit is compatible with “Serato DJ Pro” and “rekordbox”. By connecting this unit to a PC/Mac with DJ software installed and a mixer compatible with the DVS function of each DJ software, you can start performing with DVS and PERFORMANCE PAD.
