'DRUM MIDI - LINEAR FUSION' is a drum MIDI pack that was created by drummer Luke Oswald, who was inspired by fusion music and performed using a technique called 'linear drumming'. Linear drumming is a technique that involves playing patterns where two voices of the kit are not played simultaneously. To the untrained ear, it may just sound like a coherent and seductive groove, but for drummers, it is a deluxe multi-tasking exercise that will take your arms and legs away from you. In particular, when it comes to applying it to the complex universe of fusion, such as syncopation, rudiments, paradiddle, and subdivision, it requires a considerable amount of artistry to master. “As a drummer, there are endless ways to combine linear patterns and rudiments with grooves. Combining linear patterns and rudiments holds endless possibilities for drummers. This is a great way to make your material diverse, interesting and unique,” says drummer Luke Oswald. He has also been inspired by drummers such as Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta, Gavin Harrison and Simon Phillips, as well as linear groove king Carter Beauford Groove King Carter Beauford, and is perfect for a wide range of genres, from fusion rock, jazz and funk to hard-hitting hard rock and progressive metal. It is also a library that matches all genres, from fusion rock, jazz, funk, hard-hitting hard rock, and even progressive metal.
