The Bluey 500 is a 500-compatible module version of the highly acclaimed Black Lion Audio Bluey. Grammy-winning mix engineer Chris Lord Alge, who owns four 1176 Blue Stripe units, noticed that one of them had a unique appeal when used on vocal tracks, and named it BLUEY. This miraculous unit has become a one-of-a-kind modified unit after many years of maintenance and repair.We wanted to expand the number of channels of this precious unit, so we asked Black Lion Audio, who has confidence in their modification technology, to analyze and commercialize it, and Black Lion Audio's Bluey was realized.

■New features, new sounds.
To faithfully recreate the detail that Chris Lord Alge enjoyed with the original Bluey, Black Lion Audio not only uses a Cinemag custom transformer, but also recreates the insert path from Chris Lord Alge's console and incorporates it into the Bluey, ensuring everyone can get the feel of the console.

Additionally, Black Lion Audio has added Stereo Link*, an active wet/dry mix that makes modern parallel compression easy. The Bluey 500 is designed with a vintage inspired PCB layout, 1% tolerance resistors, and film capacitors, making the Bluey 500 extremely durable. And like all Black Lion Audio products, they are inspected, calibrated, and quality controlled in Chicago.

*Note about the Attack control:
Because the Bluey is a direct reproduction of Chris Lord Alge's modified unit, the [Attack] control works differently than a typical 1976-style compressor. Turning the Attack knob to the left (counterclockwise) will speed up the attack time, and turning it to the right (clockwise) will slow it down. We believe this makes operation more intuitive, as if turning the volume knob to the left decreases the volume and turning it to the right increases the volume.
