Like the original high-end hardware, AMEK's mastering compressors utilize multiple True RMS detectors. This allows them to respond intelligently to changes in signal energy, just like the human ear, for amazingly transparent dynamic control.


Control that sets it apart from other compressors.
The AMEK Mastering Compressor replaces traditional attack and release controls with a more flexible method of adjusting compressor timing, using three detection circuits (Slow, Fast, Peak) to select the exact amount of compression needed for each element of the signal and blend it perfectly. It is as if three compressors are combined into one.

A new way to visualize compression
This mastering grade tool offers not only a unique way to use compression, but also a better way to visualize compression.
A new detector graph designed by Brainworx shows exactly which of the three detector circuits controls the response of the compressor and at what timing. The distinctive output meter, inherited from the original hardware, allows you to see at a glance the degree of output, compression, and signal change.

Fine-tune as you wish
With the ratio control set to the “soft” setting, the AMEK Mastering Compressor has a gentle, program-dependent ratio reminiscent of the best tube compressors, but with greater clarity. At the other settings, it has a harder Knees and a ? The “Release Hysteresis” and “Timing” controls allow the compressor envelope to be adjusted precisely.

The original hardware was widely favored for its rich, transparent performance in mastering and mix busses, but it is also a favorite for single instrument sources of all kinds, including vocals, bass, acoustic guitar, and more. The plug-in is also available in a mono version specifically for these applications.

Brainworx engineers have added new digital-specific features not possible in the analog domain: in addition to classic controls such as Mono Maker, Stereo Width, Auto Listen, Headroom, and TMT, AMEK Mastering Compressor adds a visual detection graph, a powerful 3-band sidechain filter, and an all-new VCA Clip feature that models the soft-clipping behavior of the original analog VCA at high signal levels.
