Accurately modeled after the company's blockbuster Karacter Discrete Class A Stereo Saturator

elysia has earned a reputation among audiophiles as a venerable boutique manufacturer of very high-end, innovative hardware.
Now, Brainworx has been able to accurately model the company's blockbuster Karacter Discrete Class A Stereo Saturator and offer it as a plug-in.
Karacter is nicknamed “The Coloring Box” for its unique sound.

Karacter comes bundled with two plug-ins: karacter mix and karacter master.

karacter mix provides a straightforward set of controls for processing mono and stereo tracks.
karacter master is a plug-in that provides independent control of left and right channels, or mid and side channels in MS mode, and is optimized for processing full mixes and stereo stems and subgroups.

Both plug-ins offer three different saturation modes, allowing you to color the tracks of your project with colorful harmonics.

The Saturation mode gently thickens and emphasizes odd harmonics. Ideal for mastering, it can add subtle size to pristine-sounding instruments such as acoustic guitars and grand pianos.

The FET Shred mode mimics the pleasant distortion of a driven tube amp and provides a relative boost to even harmonics, turning a clinical-sounding electric guitar or bass track into a bad boy.

The third saturation mode, Turbo Boost, needs a warning label.
Used for extreme processing of tracks and destruction of sound design, it can sound great.

Select a saturation mode and use Karacter's Drive control to make it stronger or weaker for the ideal amount of beautiful sparkle or flesh-crushing grit.
For floor-rumbling bass tracks, turn karacter's Color control counterclockwise to bottom out the saturation and soften the highs.



In MS mode, the kick and snare can be Turbo Boosted on the MID channel, and the cymbals can be made to sound like crystals on the SIDE channel to mess with the drum overheads.
For full mixes, drum subgroups, and strings, Karacter's Mix control allows you to blend colorful distortion with a near-pristine input signal to create the right balance of fatness and detail.

With elysia karacter, any track can be transformed into a beauty or a beast.
