Gorgeous and Powerful Harmonic Saturation


BIG AL is a dual-stage tube saturator that provides a palette of amazing sounds flowing from an interactive network within a transformer-coupled pre and power amplifier.
Based on a novel circuit using authentic NOS components from the 1930s, this analog hardware was designed exclusively for this plug-in.

BIG AL's frequency adjustment begins at the EF9 preamp stage, where the Low control is implemented as a Baxandall filter, allowing you to adjust the intensity of the saturation around 100 Hz and boost or cut the bass at the same time.
The High control is an additional EQ band placed in front of the preamp tubes. This peaking filter boosts or cuts high-frequency components around 10 kHz and is essential for bringing out or suppressing the aggressiveness of the BIG AL's high frequencies.

Emphasis Shift, Bass Compensator, and Voltage Sag are powerful options that allow you to make complex changes to your distortion profile with a few simple plugs and unplugs.
The finishing spice is added by the AL4 power pentode and its output transformer, which is driven hot by the preamp stage. The result is a truly gorgeous harmonic saturation that sounds organic, musical, and bold.
