The Holy Grail plug-in for bass enthusiasts

Integrating classic and modern processing, this plug-in provides a bottom end that reaches to the earth's core for music tracks, movie special effects, and DJ sound systems.

In developing bx_subsynth, Brainworx first created an in-depth model of the legendary dbx 120XP Subharmonic Synthesizer's Waveform Modeling engine. Then, the 120XP's feature set was supersized to create tighter, clearer, louder, and more resonant bass.

Adding treble for re-synthesis allows you to capture and nose in on the fundamental frequencies of a wider range of instruments, such as snare drums and acoustic guitars.

The Tight Punch control adds resonant sub-bass peaks and filters out unwanted low frequencies below the cutoff frequency to create clear, body-slamming bass.
Powerful Edge processing offers two selectable modes of operation, Smooth and Harsh, to compress and saturate tracks, alternating between ultra-compact drums, explosively trashy drums, and throbbing bass guitar.

Differences between a typical bass EQ and bx_subsynth
Let's be clear that a typical bass EQ cannot complement bx_subsynth's capabilities. bx_subsynth's individual frequencies leave room in the low frequency range for other instruments, so you can increase the bass of the subsynth without muddying the mix. The bx_subsynth doesn't just boost, it adds a new bottom. Where some acoustic bass processors trick the brain into hearing and not feeling phantom subharmonics that don't really exist, bx_subsynth adds real subbass that shakes the body like an earthquake.

The -applications are endless.
For example, retune a drum track. Set higher subharmonics for rack toms and lower subharmonics for floor toms to create huge, powerful drum fills.
You can also boost different subharmonics on the kick drum and bass guitar to separate the sounds in the mix and increase clarity and punch.
You can even add a grounding sound to the octave sustain of the left hand in a piano piece.
Or automatically generate a perfectly synchronized bass line from the lower strings of an arpeggiated acoustic guitar track. With just two twists of the knob, the image of the bass line can be gathered to the center, greatly expanding the stereo image of the guitar by up to 400%.

Remastering engineers can use bx_subsynth to add a fat bottom end to old recordings made on thin record masters or narrow gauge multi-track tape recorders.
Sound designers can add terrifying bass to feeble cinematic FX; DJs can augment the low end of a sound system to such extreme volumes that it shatters woofers.

This is bottom end you can feel in your bones.
