Its flexibility and sound quality are now legendary, and it is still considered one of the best EQs available and is enthusiastically supported by the world's top studios.

Painstakingly emulating the ideal analog device
The AMEK EQ 250 plug-in, like the AMEK EQ 200, is inspired by the sound of Dirk Ulrich's own analog equipment and uses one of his favorites, the Sontec MEP 250ex.
This model has been heard on countless hit records and is famous for its sweet sounding top end and tight, focused bottom.

The history of high-end analog audio in a DAW
The MEP 250ex is a direct descendant of the original parametric EQ created by the pioneers of this technology, built without inductors or switches and with an uncompromised signal path.
Closely related to the MES 430B EQ used in high-end mastering studios, the MEP 250-style EQ offers fully variable control, giving mixing engineers the freedom and control they demand.
