Intelligent De-Esser" adapts naturally to any signal


Superior de-essing doesn't have to be complicated.
The original dBx 902 de-esser became an instant classic when it was introduced in the 1980s. With its ingenious design and extremely simple workflow, it quickly became a mainstay in major studios around the world and was used on countless hit records.
Today, Lindell Audio brings this design to DAWs, adding new features that make them even better than the originals.

Automatic De-essing for instant response to any instrument
The minimal two-knob workflow of the Lindell 902 DeEsser is achieved through some very sophisticated engineering under the hood, and one of the most notable features of the 902 is that it has no threshold control, which means that the 902's automatic de-essing function can be used to automatically de-ess any instrument. But this is a feature, not a bug; the 902 compares the level of selected high frequencies to other signals, allowing for equally smooth de-essing whether the signal is whisper-quiet or shout-loud.

No matter what the source, it reduces noise without guesswork.
The 902 has no complicated controls, making it easier to use and harder to screw up than other de-essers. Because there is no fixed threshold, there is no need to compromise by over-processing the loudest parts or under-processing the quietest parts.
But these results don't mean much if they don't sound good. Fortunately, the 902 is one of the best sounding de-essers ever made, and is well suited for controlling the brightness not only of voices, but also of instruments with excessive transients, such as cymbals and guitars.

The Lindell 902 brings a studio classic into the 21st century with a graphic layout that displays the de-esser operation in real time, a "mix" knob, an "air" control to return brightness after de-essing, and a "listen" function to hear exactly what the de-esser is doing.
