The world's most advanced acoustic music laboratory, IRCAM, and UVI collaborated to create the ultimate virtual prepared piano sound source. Samples were recorded in IRCAM's laboratories in Paris. IRCAM Prepared Piano contains 45 techniques (preparations) used in contemporary music by world-class engineers and equipment.
This sound source is the most flexible and sophisticated prepared piano on the market. With up to two preparations per note, microphone mixing in different positions, and more, its range of customization is beyond the norm.

IRCAM Prepared Piano has painstakingly recorded each of the 45 preparations, with over 12,000 samples collected. These preparations are configurable on a note-by-note basis and can be used in combination. There are over 40 different preparations to experiment with, ranging from standard techniques such as screws, erasers, coins, selection scissors, and sticks to mallets, picks, bows, and even EBows. In addition, each note is given two different preparations, which can be mixed and set for level and pitch. In addition, it offers Unacorda, Sostenuto, dynamics, and velocity controls, as well as various per-note prep settings, mixing of two microphone positions, bar hits and delays, and much more. And SparkVerb, renowned for its high quality and ultra-low load, enriches the sound of this piano.
