In 1985, Roland released the TR-727 Rhythm Composer, which added Latin percussion sounds to the still-famous TR-707. For decades, the TR-727 has been used in a wide range of styles, from ethnic music and acid house to pop and techno. It also works well with Afrobeat, reggaeton and many other exotic modern styles.
