- For the legendary studio
Focusrite was born in 1985 when Beatles producer Sir George Martin approached Rupert Neve to make some custom modules for AIR Montserrat, the home and studio of many famous people, including Paul McCartney, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Eric Clapton.
Their goal was to make the finest microphone preamps and EQs with low noise, ultra-wide bandwidth, and an incredibly musical sound. The ISA-110 channel strip, born from this vision, is a truly beautiful transformer-coupled microphone preamp with a 4-band EQ with high-pass and low-pass filters.
· A coveted channel strip The success of the ISA-110 spread quickly, and standalone versions of it were introduced in professional studios around the world. The ISA-130 compressor, limiter and de-esser followed, and Martin and Neve decided to collaborate on a flagship mixing console based on these popular boutique designs.
· The rarest high-end console in existence Focusrite spared no expense in creating this ambitious studio desk, but as costs quickly reached astronomical levels, the rights to the console were acquired by Phil Dudderidge of Soundcraft Electronics, who, together with his team, finally completed the Focusrite Studio Console. Only ten full consoles were made, and only nine remain today.
・A reputation as a classic machine
The original Focusrite Studio Console was coveted for its dynamic punch and precise, very pleasing equalization, and to this day it remains a solid recording and mixing desk in select studios around the world. Green Day, No Doubt, and many other artists have produced records on this desk.
・An ultra-rare console now available for your DAW
The plug-in version of this legendary console strip is the Focusrite-approved bx_console Focusrite SC.
